Mixed Media
Exploring mixed media allows me to step outside structured design systems and experiment more freely with texture, composition, and storytelling.
From capturing landscapes through photography to creating abstract compositions through acrylic pouring and collage, this work expands how I think about color, form, and visual balance. These explorations often influence my professional work by introducing new perspectives on composition, materiality, and creative problem-solving.
Mixed media serves as an ongoing creative outlet where instinct, experimentation, and discovery play a central role.
Photography
Photography has been a foundational part of my creative journey since my early experiences working in a darkroom. It continues to shape how I see composition, light, and storytelling.
Through photography, I aim to capture moments that feel both intentional and authentic, from expansive natural landscapes to architectural details and everyday scenes. Each image is an opportunity to document a moment in time while exploring balance, framing, and visual narrative.

Acrylic Pouring
Acrylic pouring offers a unique balance between control and unpredictability. While color selection and technique are intentional, the final outcome is shaped by fluid movement and natural interaction between materials.
This process has become a meditative creative practice, allowing me to step away from precision-driven design and embrace organic, evolving compositions. Each piece is inherently one-of-a-kind, driven by motion, layering, and the dynamic behavior of paint.

The Process
Each piece begins with intentional color selection and preparation of acrylic mixtures to achieve the desired viscosity and flow.
A variety of pouring techniques are used to influence the outcome, including layering, directional pours, and the use of filtering tools to create intricate and unexpected patterns. These methods allow the paint to interact naturally while still guiding the overall composition.
Experimentation plays a key role, with each pour offering new insights into how materials behave and how patterns can be shaped through technique.
The Solution
The result is a collection of abstract compositions that embrace movement, depth, and spontaneity.
These pieces highlight the balance between control and unpredictability, creating visually rich works that feel organic and dynamic. The process reinforces the value of experimentation and has influenced how I approach texture, layering, and color relationships in my broader design work.
Cornhole Board Set
This project combined product design, fabrication, and hands-on craftsmanship to create a custom cornhole board set with unique functional features.
Working with reclaimed materials, I collaborated with a production team member to design and build a set that included integrated beverage holders and a built-in score tracking system. The goal was to elevate a traditional game with thoughtful design enhancements and a refined finish.

The Strategy
The project began with concept exploration focused on enhancing usability while maintaining a clean and cohesive design.
Prototyping and small-scale mockups were used to test features such as cup holder placement and scoring integration. Through trial and error, the design was refined to ensure both durability and functionality.
The Solution
The final product successfully combined form and function, resulting in a visually polished and highly usable cornhole set.
Careful coordination of routing, sanding, and staining processes ensured a high-quality finish, while the added features elevated the overall experience. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform a simple object into something more engaging and user-focused.
Retro Robbie
Retro Robbie began as a creative experiment during a trip to Zion National Park, where I wanted to introduce a character that could interact with the environment and add a narrative layer to travel photography.
What started as a playful concept quickly evolved into an ongoing creative project combining character design, photography, and storytelling. Robbie became a way to explore different environments through a consistent visual voice, blending humor, personality, and adventure.
Over time, the project expanded into physical products including stickers, pins, and other branded items, turning a simple idea into a growing creative identity.

The Process
The process begins with capturing environments that offer strong visual backdrops, followed by integrating the Retro Robbie character into each scene.
Captions and storytelling elements are then layered in to create a cohesive narrative that brings the character to life across different locations and experiences.
The Solution
Retro Robbie has evolved into a recognizable creative concept that blends illustration, photography, and storytelling into a unified experience.
The project demonstrates how a simple idea can grow into a broader creative platform, supporting both digital content and physical product opportunities while maintaining a consistent and engaging identity.
