Creative Design
Creative exploration plays an important role in how I continue to grow as a designer. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy pursuing projects that allow me to experiment with new ideas, techniques, and creative directions.
As a multidisciplinary designer, I believe curiosity and continuous learning are essential to staying sharp in a constantly evolving industry. The projects in this section represent personal explorations and creative initiatives that push my thinking, expand my skill set, and allow me to bring new perspectives back into my professional work.
For me, design is not simply a profession. It is a lifelong creative practice.
Etsy Shop Featured Designs
As part of exploring additional creative outlets and potential passive income opportunities, I launched an Etsy shop as an extension of my design practice. The shop focuses on digital and print-on-demand products including wall décor, educational design prints, and themed art collections.
The project is ongoing and continues to evolve as I experiment with new visual styles and product ideas. A particular focus has been placed on creating thoughtfully designed pieces that combine strong typography, illustration, and storytelling while remaining accessible for a wide audience.
Many of the designs draw inspiration from personal interests including nature, music, houseplants, and design education. The shop also reflects my curiosity about entrepreneurship, including researching successful marketplaces, identifying product opportunities, and refining designs to meet customer demand.

Apple Pie Moonshine
For over a decade, my wife and I have crafted a homemade apple pie moonshine that has become a highly anticipated holiday tradition among friends and family.
Each year I design a new label to accompany the batch, turning the project into an annual creative exercise that allows me to experiment with different visual styles, typography, and packaging ideas.
The tradition has evolved into a small creative branding project where flavor, presentation, and storytelling all come together.

The Process
Each year begins with brainstorming new visual directions for the label design. This includes exploring typography styles, illustration concepts, seasonal motifs, and packaging finishes that align with the nostalgic and festive nature of the drink.
Concepts are refined into final label designs that balance personality and clarity while maintaining consistency with the evolving identity of the product.
The Solution
Over the years, the label designs have evolved into a collection of unique visual interpretations, each reflecting a different creative direction while maintaining the recognizable character of the brand.
This ongoing project has allowed me to explore a wide range of visual styles and production techniques while reinforcing how thoughtful packaging design can elevate even the simplest homemade product into a memorable experience.
Redhook Brewlab
While working at Tube Art Group, I had the opportunity to design a custom holding tank graphic for the Redhook Brewlab during the development of their Capitol Hill location.
The goal was to create a visually engaging concept that reflected the creative energy of the neighborhood while serving as a striking centerpiece for the space. The design needed to feel authentic to the brand while also capturing the vibrant character of the surrounding community.
After presenting several concepts, my design was selected for implementation and ultimately installed as part of the brewery’s environment when the location opened in 2016.

The Process
The design process began with research into Redhook’s brand identity and the cultural character of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The goal was to create a graphic that would resonate with the local community while remaining authentic to the brewery’s voice.
Initial sketches and concept explorations were presented to the brewery team for feedback. Through an iterative process of refinement and collaboration, the design evolved into a final concept that balanced bold visual storytelling with fabrication feasibility.
Working closely with engineers and fabrication partners ensured the final design could be successfully applied to the holding tank structure.
The Solution
The final design incorporated visual references that celebrated the unique energy and character of Capitol Hill while maintaining strong alignment with Redhook’s brand identity.
Once installed, the holding tank became a distinctive visual feature within the Brewlab environment and an engaging backdrop for visitors. The project demonstrated how environmental graphics can transform functional elements into memorable visual moments within a space.
Additional Creative Design
Beyond structured projects, I continually explore new creative ideas through independent design work, visual experiments, and personal creative challenges.
These pieces represent a wide range of explorations including illustration, typography, graphic experimentation, and conceptual design work. While many begin as simple creative exercises, they often evolve into opportunities to test new tools, refine techniques, and push creative boundaries.
Maintaining an active creative practice outside of client work helps me stay inspired, curious, and engaged with the evolving landscape of design.
Below are additional pieces that highlight my ongoing commitment to creativity and experimentation.
