From 2018 through 2024, I collaborated with MN Custom Homes as a freelance lead designer, supporting the brand and marketing function of one of the Seattle-Eastside's most respected luxury home builders.

Over more than six years of sustained partnership, I worked alongside the internal marketing team to develop and steward a wide range of brand and marketing initiatives — building and maintaining the design systems that supported every community launch, campaign, and client-facing touchpoint during that period.

The Challenge

Luxury home marketing demands a consistent level of refinement that has to hold across an enormous variety of deliverables — from magazine advertising and community brochures to digital campaigns and in-home informational displays. The challenge across a multi-year engagement was maintaining that standard while continuously evolving to support new developments, shifting market conditions, and growing creative needs.

Efficiency without quality loss, and consistency without creative stagnation, were the recurring tensions to manage.

Early in the partnership, I developed a set of repeatable brand guidelines and design systems that gave the internal team a reliable foundation to build from. Templates, style specifications, and documented standards reduced production time and ensured that new materials — regardless of who initiated them — reflected the same level of polish as the work that established the brand.

From that foundation, each new campaign or community launch could move faster without sacrificing craft.

Over six-plus years, the partnership produced a deep and cohesive library of marketing assets spanning print, digital, environmental, and event applications. Brand guidelines developed early in the engagement became the standard across all MN Custom Homes marketing, ensuring visual and tonal consistency as the company continued to grow.
